Veterans Deserve to Make Their Own Mask Choice: Let's Agree to Make the Mandate Optional
The Issue
Dear fellow Americans,
As patriots, it is our duty to stand up for those who have selflessly served our country and defended the freedoms and rights they were promised upon their return. Our veterans were sent to the longest war fought by our nation and have made countless sacrifices to defend our freedom. However, the recent changes to the VA mask policy have resulted in a complex situation where individual facilities are allowed to regulate themselves, leading to different mask mandates across the country.
While some facilities have lifted the mask mandate, others, like California, continue to maintain a strict mandatory mask policy in place. As a result, our veterans are facing different rules and requirements depending on where they receive medical care. It is crucial to acknowledge this evolving situation and adjust our efforts accordingly.
That is why I am updating Operation: Hope this will come soon, a patriotic movement to bring our veterans the care they were promised. We must come to a middle ground agreement in this mask mandate. It is time for us to make masks optional for our veterans across all facilities, freeing them from the unjust burden they are facing.
I have mailed 541 letters to every member of Congress, the Senate, President Biden, Vice President Harris, and various media outlets, calling for their support in this effort. I am pleased to announce that I have already received the first reply back from a Congressman and expect more in the next few weeks.
While the VA has updated its mask policy and relaxed the regulations, the reality is that some facilities will lift the mandates, while others will maintain them. We need to ensure that our veterans are receiving consistent and fair treatment, regardless of the facility they visit.
Join me in this call to action. Sign this petition, share it, and call your representative to demand action. Together, we can make a difference and show our veterans that we will always stand by their side, defending their rights and freedoms.
As warriors, we are sworn to never abandon our wounded comrades on the battlefield. Yet, it is disheartening to see our government turn away the very veterans who have fulfilled their duty to our country at the VA door. Let us uphold the commitment to support and care for our heroes, even after they have returned home.
The mission of the VA is to care for those who have served and "To care for him who shall have borne the battle and for his widow and his orphan." Let us not forget this mission and let our government fulfill its obligation to our brave warriors. Let us unite in Operation: Hope this will come soon and give our veterans the medical and support they need. Let's agree to make Mask Optional Again.
Honorare vulneratis,
A Maskless and Patriotic Veteran
