Currently, in the UK, you have to be 16 to vote. This implies that the people in power think that the opinions of under 16s are "less important" than those of over 16s. I, however, strongly disagree with this. 

You may say that under 16s are immature, but many adults are also immature. And while this may lead you to say that voter competency tests are the way forward, this is highly immoral. While only allowing geniuses to vote would be efficient, it goes against the very definition of democracy. 

Fascism is bad. I think we can all agree on that. But not giving everyone the vote is the definition of fascism, including under 16s.

And, while it may not be easy, this does not mean we shouldn't do it. We don't only apply basic human rights if they're easy to do. We apply them because we're decent human beings.

I propose we also introduce voting in primary schools, to make this easier to manage. This would make it more manageable, and make it so parents can't vote in the name of their children. (In high school, children should be able to vote by themselves).
