This petition is for the people of Kasargod who have been suffering SYSTEMIC NEGLECT from a very long time. Kasargod is the northernmost district of Kerala, and it's one of the medically remote districts of the state too. Besides, the district had enough havoc with the 25+ years spray of the infamous acaricide endosulfan. It was recently, after around 10 years of the ban on the acaricide, that the ecosystem of the district started to replenish. Until then, there were high instances of genetic deformities among animals. Many humans were also affected by the spray, and children are still born with genetic anomalies.

It's been years since the affected have organised themselves and started demanding for proper compensation as well as appropriate and adequate rehabilitation. However, the government has been forcing them to be contented with titbits or short term solutions. They're not offered with any kind of long term solutions. 

 And the lockdown seemed to be a line between death and life for most of them. 20 people died in this district alone because Kasargod has no up-to-date healthcare services. The district is dependent on its nearby region of the next state, Karnataka, that is Mangalore. Or it has to rely on the neighbouring district Kannur. India has attained independence seventy five years ago, and districts like Kasargod are yet to achieve medical freedom and it's a paradox. 

And world famous activist Dayabhai who's been working for Adivasi and environmental causes has been working for them for the past few years, and she has decided to go on with an indefinite hunger strike against the institutional neglect. It's indeed shameful that an 83 years old woman is needed for showing how much the district suffers. It's sad, but we are determined to attain what we deserve, and we need your immense support for it. 

Here are the four demands that we put forward: 

1) Add Kasargod in the state proposal for AIIMS

2) Establish efficient and appropriate healthcare in the district ASAP

3) Establish daycare centers in all Grama Panchayat Municipalities

4) Conduct regular medical camps for listing endosulfan affected.

And we've been amplifying two hashtags for the same.
