The Issue
PROTECT QUEENS VILLAGE HISTORY FROM FURTHER DEMOLITION
St. Joseph’s Episcopal Church located at 99-10 217th Lane and St. Joseph’s Parish Day School (formerly the Webster Day School) located at 217-55 100th Avenue (the former Callister Farm) are slated to be DEMOLISHED sometime after JUNE 27, 2021 by the Episcopal Diocese of Long Island with no definite design plans for the site.
BY SIGNING this petition: We the residents of Queens Village, the greater Queens area, and New York City, and Preservationist, protest the demolition of these buildings (including the rectory).
We support landmarking St. Joseph’s Episcopal Church and Day School’s complex of buildings designed by distinguished architects such as the Parfitt Brothers of Brooklyn, Tuthill and Higgins of Jamaica, Hobart Upjohn of New York City, Louis Nobbs of New York, Andrew Weber of Queens Village, and William Leppin of Jamaica, NY.
