Like many other citizens of the United States, over the last few years, my faith in our federal system and its representatives has been severely shaken. The daily onslaught of misinformation and propaganda disseminated by members of Congress, federal agencies, and more has been disheartening and unsettling. A striking example was the propagation of unsubstantiated claims about the origins of the Hunter Biden laptop by 51 former intelligence officials, which cast a pall of doubt and uncertainty over the transparency of our governance. Moreover, the Biden Administration's blatantly misleading information about employment statistics and the state of our economy was a painful reminder of the level of deceit that has become systemic within our government.

The crux of the problem lies in the implementation of the Smith-Mundt Modernization Act of 2012. This Act, unfortunately, modifies the Smith-Mundt Act of 1948 and consequently, gives a green light for the U.S. government to disseminate propaganda to its own civilian population.

Former President Trump, having been a part of the system, maintains significant influence and a deep understanding of necessary changes required within. Hence, we are appealing to him to lead the movement for changing the Act back to its original purpose - to prevent the Federal Government from lawfully propagandizing the American people.

In these challenging times, it is imperative to step back from the path of misinformation, to restore trust in the system and ensure fair and truthful governance. People's faith should lie in a government that provides information, not propaganda. We all have a right to transparency, unbiased facts, and truth.
