Throughout history, experience and practical knowledge of the nonviolent alternative has grown, as has its successful application, particularly in the last 100 years. At the international level, the diversion of wealth into the machinery of war chokes off funds that should provide better human and health services, education, environmental clean up and protections, and other goods to the benefit of all. The culture of violence blights lives all over the globe--now is the time to practice and spread nonviolence in our own lives, in our communities, in our nations and among all nations.
