Improve Penicuik's Road Crossings & Junctions

Improve Penicuik's Road Crossings & Junctions
The Issue
Midlothian Council's continuous disregard for Penicuik has led to a crucial point in which improvements are required to a number of road crossings and junctions or there could be an imminent fatality; most likely a young child on the way home from school.
Improvements are required to the following junctions/crossings:
1. The two zebra crossings in Penicuik's town centre at the St Kentigern Way roundabout ajoining B&M Bargains and Lidl should be replaced with one pelican crossing on the bus terminus side of the roundabout. Fencing should then be erected along St Kentigern Way so that pedestrians can only cross the road at the pelican crossing at Lidl or the pelican crossing at RBS.
2. Upgrading of the two arm t-junction on the A701 (Edinburgh Road) ajoining Mauricewood Road to a signalised junction with associated fencing/signage/road widening and removal of current islands.
Part of the wider petition: Treat Penicuik Fairly and Help Improve Our Town Centre.
