Kill Hannah is a Chicago band whose music helped define an era of the city’s alternative scene. For many fans, their songs were the soundtrack to formative years, late-night drives, packed club shows, and memories that still resonate deeply today.

In 2015, Kill Hannah played what was billed as their “final” show at the Metro in Chicago. During that night, Riot Fest was mentioned as the place they would reunite someday. In the documentary about the show, that idea was echoed backstage as well — Riot Fest was seen as the ideal stage for a future return.

In March 2019, the band briefly reunited for a benefit concert for JBTV founder Jerry Bryant, demonstrating that the chemistry, energy, and fan enthusiasm are still very much alive. Members of the band have expressed that if they were to reunite again, doing so at a festival would feel right.

With Riot Fest approaching this year, the opportunity for a hometown reunion feels especially meaningful and timely.

As a Chicago-based festival known for celebrating influential artists, rare reunions, and the city’s own musical legacy, Riot Fest is uniquely positioned to bring Kill Hannah back where they belong. A reunion set would honor the band’s history, resonate deeply with longtime fans, and introduce their music to a new generation.

A festival appearance could also serve as an important first step toward additional performances. Many fans who are unable to attend a festival — or who hope for a more intimate, dedicated show — would welcome the possibility that a successful reunion could lead to future standalone concerts or even a broader tour.

This petition is intended to demonstrate that there is strong, active interest in seeing Kill Hannah reunite now — especially in their hometown, on a stage known for unforgettable comeback moments.

We respectfully ask Riot Fest organizers to consider inviting Kill Hannah to reunite at this year’s festival.
