It's All About the Name
Of course I'm going to rate this organization with five stars - I'm the Executive Director! As an organization, we're just two years old, but its only been in the last year that things finally got rolling. To start off, the organization's mission is summed up in its name - EndOil. That's right, we want to end global oil dependency and all the problems related to it, which you can read about at our website - http://www.EndOil.org. Our goal is to build a massive network of people committed to reducing oil usage in their own lives and in the world around them. We hope you'll join with us.
It's worth checking out our Communities for Clean Ports. The goods movement system is a suprisingly large greenhouse gas contributor and is actually responsible for a variety of other health related problems, including 2400 premature deaths in California and sky high cancer rates. The Ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles handle about 25% of the nations trade and the amount of trade is expected to double in the next 13 years. We're pushing to make sure its done in a clean way. It's not a surprise that diesel related pollution is the primary culprit and that industry is fighting like crazy to slow any sort of effort to get them to clean up. You can learn more at
