This is a petition to help get proper fencing near railroad tracks close to a community in Portage Indiana. We are a community that lives just a few hundred feet from tracks that have many trains go by a day without proper fencing to warn children and adults of danger. Woodland Village in Portage Indiana is one of many communities that lack proper fencing. An incident occured today on 8-7-18 where two toddlers were struck by a freight train right outside their home. One toddler passed away and another in the hospital. This is a tragic event that I hope never happens agian and hopefully it wont if the City of Portage takes SOME responsibility. Please put fencing where tracks go by homes where children play. Please make Woodland Village more safer by putting proper fencing near your tracks. This is my community where my children play and I want to make it safer and you can help!
