Support the Rebuilding of the National Sailing Academy – A Vital Community Resource

The National Sailing Academy (NSA), founded in 2010 by Elizabeth Jordan, is a nonprofit organization that provides free sailing and swimming instruction to Antiguans of all ages and abilities — including schoolchildren, adults, and differently-abled individuals — as part of the national curriculum. Since opening its doors in January 2014 at Dockyard Drive, English Harbour, the Academy has proudly served the community, currently welcoming over 280 local students weekly through its programs.

Our mission is to ensure that every Antiguan has access to the sea, not only as a sport or hobby, but as a life skill, educational opportunity, and potential career path.

Today, our facilities are in a state of disrepair and urgently need rebuilding to continue serving the community. However, despite our nonprofit status and social impact and the outspoken support and approval from various Antigua and Barbuda government officials and the development plans being approved by DCA we are currently still awaiting approval for over 2 years by the National Parks Authority from receiving the necessary approvals to proceed with reconstruction.

We are calling on the Government of Antigua and Barbuda and the National Parks Authority to support this essential initiative. The NSA has been able to secure the funding for this project by private investors and patrons.

The NSA asks for your help — both locally and internationally — to show that the National Sailing Academy matters. Your support can help us protect a vital space for youth development, marine education, and inclusive community engagement.

More information can be found on www.supportnsa.com here you can find details on what is there now, what is in store for the future. How does the NSA serve Antigua and Barbuda.

We urge the relevant authorities to grant permission for rebuilding the NSA facilities and ensure this unique program can continue to empower Antiguans & Internationals for generations to come.
