Give Stranger Things and Eleven a proper ending with one final continuation
The Issue
Fans of Stranger Things have been invested in Eleven’s development, relationships, and her story for a decade now. Her incredible actress, Millie Bobby Brown, also has a deep connection to her character. In the final season of Stranger Things, Eleven was heavily sidelined, and the scenes she was in entirely diverged from what made her Jane Hopper. In the end of a horribly written season that had significant plot holes, destroyed numerous characters, and ignored much of the series’ lore, Eleven once again sacrifices herself, yet is hinted at being alive, but plot holes make this ambiguity impossible and force the conclusion that she in fact dies. This is not a satisfying ending nor a well written one for such a phenomenal character. Despite Eleven’s sacrifice happening to end a cycle, basic logic tells us that this would be unsuccessful due to the constant enemy of the show still undefeated- the government. With decades of research, it’s impossible that everything suddenly ends simply because Eleven is no longer in the picture. This is why we need a full continuation of Eleven’s story. Doing this could save not only the character, but the series as well. Fans, and Millie, deserve a happy and satisfying ending for Eleven and a series we’ve followed for ten years.
