True Mod Support in Diablo 2 Resurrected. (Including Private Realm + Hardcoding Support)
The Issue
Modding has been part of the Diablo 2 culture for nearly 20 years and has brought a lot of longevity to the game. Hundreds of thousands of players have enjoyed mods on Diablo 2 over the years and still do to this day.
There are many active mods that have expanded and brought the community together such as Project Diablo 2, Median XL and PlugY. However Blizzard's current stance on no hardcoding, no private servers and no TCP / IP will stop players from creating or enjoying these mods on Diablo 2 Resurrected.
We're asking Blizzard to officially support private servers and allow hardcoding even if it's on a separate client (similar to how Minecraft allows private servers). Mod support has no effect on the original version of the game and only allows the community to create more content as well as bolsters the longevity of the title without increasing costs for Blizzard. Using Minecraft or Skyrim as examples we can see that empowering the players and the communities to make change only increases the success and popularity of a title.
Thank you and much love fellow gamers! <3
