On April 24, 2020, just as the pandemic hit, Arizona native Josh Swain created a Facebook group chat with other Josh Swains, letting them prepare for a 'Swainbowl' the next year in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Over the rest of 2020 onto April of 2021, the 'Swainbowl' escalated to an over 1000-person attendence during an all-out pool noodle fight for those with the first name Josh, at Air Park Green Area.  The event raised funds for the Children's Hospital & Medical Center along with non-perishables for the Nebraska Food Bank.  In the end, the event raised over $40,000.

The following year, Swain announced the sequel to the "internet's favorite act of absurdity," scheduled for May 21, 2022, at Bowling Lake Park, near Air Park.  The event raised $20,576, with Josh Cellars Wine agreeing to double that amount to donate to the CH&MC.  Though not as popular as the original "Josh Fight," it is still a wholesome event for Joshes and non-Joshes alike to meet up and have some fun with pool noodles.

The Mayor of Lincoln declared May 21, 2022 as "Josh Fight Day," so what is stopping us from declaring April 24, the original date for Josh Fight 2021, a nationally recognized day, "National Josh Day?"
