As a single mother putting tireless hours into delivering for Doordash, Uber Eats, and GrubHub, I often feel wronged and deceived. Discrepancies in mileage, pay, tips, and inconsistent pay adjustments across states, have led to feelings of frustration and injustice among us, the hard-working drivers of these platforms.

The grievances many delivery drivers face are not isolated. In fact, they reflect a wider systemic issue. A lack of regulation and oversight for gig economy companies like Doordash, Uber Eats, and Grubhub have left thousands of drivers, just like me, feeling toyed with.

We call for proper checks and measures to be put in place, starting with the formation of a Delivery Drivers Union. Such representation would ensure drivers have a voice and are treated justly. Our demanding roles contribute significantly to the economy and deserve to be recognized and protected. Together, we can give hardworking drivers the respect and fairness they deserve and require the platforms they work for to act responsibly.
