Her daughter was killed by a driver—so she fought to change the law
After losing her 5-year-old daughter Allie to a car accident, Jessica Hart channeled her grief into never letting that happen to another person again. She started a petition for pedestrian safety in car assessments and began documenting dangerous driving, testifying at city council meetings, and using social media to demand safer streets and vehicle designs.

“Starting the petition on Change.org gave me the chance to reach nearly 50,000 people. It gave me a platform to say that thousands of people dying on the roads is not okay.”

But the biggest impact the petition has had for Jessica is that she has been able to honor Allie’s memory.
