STOP Wearing Shoes Inside Batu Caves Temple!

STOP Wearing Shoes Inside Batu Caves Temple!
The Issue
WILL YOU WEAR SHOES INSIDE YOUR TEMPLE OR RELIGIOUS BUILDING?
It is very sad and heartbreaking to see our temples is being humiliated and polluted by people. What surprises me greatly is that our Indian Community is also being a part of this.
On 20th November 2022, myself visited Batu Caves Temple. I came there as I was fasting for Lord Ayyappan and wanted to visit one of our Malaysian pride which is the third tallest statue of a Hindu deity in the world, Batu Caves Lord Murugan. All my happiness was shattered when i started to climb up the Batu Caves stairs and I saw many people was wearing Shoes/Sandals while climbing up the stairs.
It was really surprising as before this when I visited Batu Caves Temple, there was a designated place to store our shoes/sandals. Furthermore, there were also few people assigned to monitor the visitors and devotees so that they will be leaving the Shoes/Sandals before climbing up the stairs as the whole area above the stairs is a TEMPLE! I couldn't concentrate on my prayers when i reached the top. I can say 60% of the people at the temple was wearing Shoes/Sandals. All the tourist was happily filming their experience on the top of Batu Caves Temple with shoes ON.

You may question me , why I never rebuked or scold anyone? There was no chance for me to ask anyone, because almost all of them was wearing shoes. Whom can i scold when our own Indian people's also shows no respect to the place and deity. I am wondering if HINDU SANGAM and Batu Caves Temple Committee is aware of this issue? This is a very serious matter that could lead to racial conflicts.
How does it sounds when most of the temples in Malaysia don't allow our traditional Instrument Urumi Melam to be played inside temple, yet now they are allowing people to wear Shoes/Sandals? I leave it to you people to evaluate.
If you think its okay and better if people are allowed to wear Shoes/Sandals inside temples, then you can just skip this petition. And if you are a person who cares for our temples and traditional beliefs, kindly sign this petition and please share to the peoples in your circle so that we can make a difference together. Let's hope for the best.
