The Issue

The U.S. government’s cover-up of Epstein’s crimes and the crimes of his co-conspirators against children is one of the greatest miscarriages of justice in American history. This petition aims to end this unprecedented cover-up.

My name is Nick Bryant, I'm an investigative journalist and founder of Epstein Justice, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to justice in the Epstein case.

Jeffrey Epstein operated a sex trafficking network that exploited hundreds of underage girls—some reportedly as young as 11 or 12 years old—for 25 years. At the same time, he socialized with—and in many cases traveled with—some of the most powerful people in the world. Then, before he could stand trial, he died under mysterious circumstances.

We know that celebrities, politicians, and wealthy businessmen were involved in Epstein’s pedophile network. We also know the names of five Epstein pimps, courtesy of the New York Times, who could be indicted tomorrow if the Justice Department was willing.

But the Justice Department isn’t willing. In fact, the government is dedicated to covering up for Epstein and his cronies.

In a two-page memo that will live in infamy, the DOJ claimed on July 6 that after "exhaustive review,” agents found that Epstein abused over one thousand girls by himself. They also claimed that there's no Epstein “client list," even though Attorney General Pam Bondi previously said one existed on Fox News.

Then on July 22, U.S. House Speaker Mike Johnson quickly shut down the House for the summer in order to dodge a vote that would’ve mandated an investigation into Epstein et al. The Speaker of the House shutting down the House to negate an investigation of the Epstein case demonstrates the utter rot of our political system

So to recap: After years of investigation, with over one thousand victims, a trove of records, including thousands of hours of video tape, the DOJ is not indicting anyone else, or pursuing investigations for additional evidence.

Not only that, the White House and Congress are actively blocking any and all efforts to release these files so the public can see the evidence for themselves.

Washington has gravely underestimated the intelligence and morality of the American public. People on the Left and the Right are furious about this betrayal. That’s because protecting children is not a partisan issue. It’s time to translate this righteous and bipartisan rage into justice for Epstein’s victims.

That’s why I need your support. Join me in calling on Congress to commence an independent congressional commision.

And don’t let the Justice Department fool you: prosecutors can expose Epstein’s co-conspirators without revealing personal information about the victims.

Unfortunately, Epstein’s child trafficking epitomizes a pandemic in the United States. According to the Centers for Disease Control, 25% of underage girls and 5% of underage boys in the US experience child sexual abuse, which translates into more than 50 million Americans. It is estimated that between 15,000 to 50,000 women and children are forced into sexual slavery in the United States every year, but the total number varies considerably, because it is very difficult to research. A study commissioned by the Department of Health and Human Services estimates that the number of children and women at risk for sex trafficking in the US is between is 244,000 and 325,000 a year, and a report from the University of Pennsylvania puts that number at between 100,000 and 300,000. According to the 2023 Federal Human Trafficking Report, only 664 individuals nationwide were charged with child sex trafficking.

Despite numerous government agencies, and hundreds of anti-trafficking and anti-exploitation NGOs, only an infinitesimal fraction of 1% of child sexual abuse and trafficking victims actually see justice. And if we allow the Justice Department to be unresponsive to victims in the Epstein case, a proven child sex trafficking case, that sends a message to millions of victims that they have no voice and no hope for justice.

But, if we can hold Epstein's co-conspirators accountable, we can show victims worldwide that justice is possible.
