Abenezer Hailu, my beloved brother, has been absent from our lives for a year and a half due to incarceration. Despite facing challenging circumstances, including mental health issues, Abenezer remains a kind, warm-hearted, and valued member of our family and community. A dedicated deacon at our local church, Abenezer has tirelessly served and uplifted our community by cultivating a spiritual environment through volunteering, liturgical services, and assisting in organizing countless youth events and homeless services.

The purpose of this petition is to urgently request your support in advocating for Abenezer to face no prison time. The past three years have been incredibly difficult for him, compounded by challenges that have significantly affected his life. It is our hope that these extenuating circumstances will be taken into account during his sentencing.

We, his family and community, stand together to plead for his release. His absence has left a void, not only in our hearts but also in our community. Our heartfelt wish is for Abenezer to come home, where we plan to support him through counseling and guidance so that he may heal and return to the community he served.
