Demand Bob Nutting Sell the Pittsburgh Pirates
Demand Bob Nutting Sell the Pittsburgh Pirates
The Issue
Our hearts beat for the Pittsburgh Pirates. For us, being fans of this team signifies more than just watching games; it involves loyalty, dedication, and a deep-rooted love for OUR team. However, the management of the Pirates under owner Bob Nutting has been a serious issue. The team, is currently owned by Bob Nutting, but it truly belongs to the fans and the city of Pittsburgh. The team was here and had a proud history of over 100 years before Nutting and it will continue after he is gone. We have seen a prolonged period of underperformance under the current ownership.
Since 2007 when Nutting took control of the Pirates the team has had only 3 winning seasons. The team payroll has delcined since the last winning team in 2015, despite the continued growth in baseball revenues and profit sharing. If the team could afford a $100 million payroll in 2015, the increased revenues since then should allow them to easily raise the payroll to $125 million and field a competitive team.
Furthermore, Nutting's ownership is marked by minimal investment in the team's roster and the selection of poor team management, which stand starkly inadequate in comparison to other Major League Baseball teams. This lack of investment is hampering our team's growth and performance.
It is time for a change. It is time for Bob Nutting to sell the Pittsburgh Pirates. It is time for us to reclaim the glory of our team and our city. Join us in this campaign and demand the change that is long overdue. Sign this petition. Support the call to restore the Pittsburgh Pirates to its true potential.
