I have an Instagram series called "Until Rape Stops," and I am deeply committed to the cause of ending rape and sexual violence in India. It is disheartening to see the increasing number of cases and the devastating impact they have on victims and their families. The situation demands immediate action for a safer and more informed society. I will not stop advocating until India has zero rape cases.

One of the most effective ways to tackle this issue is through comprehensive sex education in every school and institution across India. Proper education can lead to a better understanding of consent, respect, and boundaries among young individuals. It can dismantle harmful myths and stereotypes about sexuality that contribute to a culture of misogyny and violence. According to a report by UNESCO, young people who receive comprehensive sex education are less likely to engage in risky behaviors and more likely to report incidents of abuse or violence.

There is substantial evidence that sex education in schools can lead to a reduction in rates of sexual violence. Many countries with mandatory sex education, such as the Netherlands and Sweden, report significantly lower rates of teen pregnancies and sexual assault compared to countries without it. Moreover, a study conducted by the World Health Organization showed that sex education does not lead to increased sexual activity amongst young people but rather informed, safe, and respectful interactions.

This petition calls upon the Ministry of Education in India to implement a national curriculum for comprehensive and age-appropriate sex education. This curriculum should be inclusive of all genders, respectful of cultural diversity, and developed in collaboration with experts, educators, and community leaders.
