Moratorium on data centers in North Carolina

The Issue

The AI data center business is booming too quickly without any concern or regard to the health of the environment or the people around them.

Data centers are now proving to use hundreds of thousands of gallons water.

They are heating up the land around the centers at least 16°f above normal temperatures.

The noise pollution is causing health impacts in humans and animals ranging from loss of body condition, less production for livestock, headaches and more in humans.

The data centers are releasing nitrogen dioxide which is causing severe respiratory distress, heart disease, and premature death in those who live close to data centers.

The risks are endless.

NC being #1 in farm land loss already, we must come together to say enough is enough. We can not lose anymore of our environment, health, animals and people for profit. This petition is aimed to put a 12 month moratorium on all data centers being opened in North Carolina so we can evaluate true scientific evidence of risks to our health before allowing the boom to hurt our state.

North Carolina has over 90 data centers in use, and is building more and more.

Say NO to data centers.
