Stop the Ban on THC Beverages in Connecticut!

Stop the Ban on THC Beverages in Connecticut!
The Issue
URGENT, we need YOUR help!
Connecticut has recently proposed a ban on hemp-based THC beverages and full spectrum CBD beverages through alcohol retail channels and wants to relegate them to Adult Use stores only. As a federally legal product (unlike marijuana based products) that already contains significantly less THC than items available in Adult Use stores, this is harmful and completely unnecessary.
This ban not only infringes upon our right to choose what we consume, but also denies us access to a beverage known for its numerous health and recreational benefits, and hurts struggling local businesses.
Hemp based THC beverages have been proven to provide relief from chronic pain, anxiety, and insomnia among other conditions (source: National Academies of Sciences). Moreover, these drinks offer a safer alternative for those who wish to avoid the harmful effects of smoking cannabis, and an alternative to those choosing to abstain from alcohol as a recreational or social beverage.
The proposed ban in Connecticut is contrary to the trend in other states where such beverages are legal and widely accepted. This ban will force consumers to look to purchase these online which will circumvent our local retailers and raise costs for consumers. This could cost local alcohol retailers $100 million dollars annually in revenue looking at other similar states as a model.
This petition is not just about preserving consumer choice; it's about ensuring that residents of Connecticut continue to have access to beneficial and safe alternatives for their wellbeing, and supporting our local businesses. While we support safety measures including ensuring 21+ purchasing, we urge lawmakers in Connecticut to not only consider the economic implications but also respect our rights as consumers for this federally legal product.
Please join us in this fight against an unnecessary restriction on our choices and health options. Sign this petition today!
